Helping People with Speech Language Therapy
from Birth to Adults

As a Bilingual Speech and Language pathologist (English and Spanish) with a 20+ year career, I have treated patients from birth to adult, in educational and healthcare facilities, and in their homes. I opened my own private practice in New York City 15 years ago, and have established a reputation for facilitating life-changing successes for my patients and their families. My referrals come from pediatricians, neurologists, dentists, and gerontologists; from other therapists, private and public schools, and from the parents of children I have treated.

Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in
New York and New Jersey

I am licensed in New York State and New Jersey, and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certificate (TSHH), a Certificate for Infants at Risk Program, and a Bilingual Extension Certificate. I am approved by the New York City Board of Education, and am PROMPT-trained. My BA in Spanish and MA in Speech Language Pathology were both earned at New York University.

Extensive Expertise in Speech Language Therapy
Evaluation and Treatment

My extensive expertise in evaluation and treatment covers the full range of clinical conditions that impact speech and language development, ongoing communication, and quality of life. In children, these include language disorders, apraxia, oral motor disorders (phonological/articulatory disorders), auditory processing disorders, pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) and attention deficit disorders (ADD.)

Adult Conditions and Disorders that Benefit from
Speech Language Pathology

Adult conditions encompass disorders resulting from traumatic brain injuries, stroke, Alzheimer’s/dementia and other illnesses. These include speech and language disorders, aphasia, dysphasia (swallowing disorders), and ataxia/spastic dysphonia. I also work with dialect/accent reduction, helping to advance my patients’ work opportunities and careers.

Working with Children in Speech Language Therapy

Working with children requires flexibility and understanding, so I use many different modalities, taking my cues from each individual boy or girl. We have fun while we work! I integrate play and interactive games into our sessions as well as songs and music that help children relax and respond spontaneously. Each child is treated broadly, improving his or her ability to function independently. I often incorporate other therapists, teachers, and parents to support my therapy.

My Personal Commitment to Speech Language Pathology

A thirst for knowledge and my own high expectations keep me on the cutting edge of my profession. I regularly attend seminars and workshops throughout the region to stay abreast of the latest research and advances in speech and language therapeutic techniques. Among many specialized courses, I have completed: Expanding Expression: A Multi Sensory Approach for Improved Written and Oral Expression; Suspected Apraxia and Early Intervention; Central Auditory Processing Disorders in Children: A Course for Clinical Practice; Practical Treatment Strategies for Very Young Children Who Stutter (ages 2-6; and have received the ACE (Award for Continuing Education.) I am committed to each child/patient’s success, and partner with family members – parents, caregivers, and adult children – to achieve the best possible outcome.
